Big, strong kid; gangly arms/legs and still growing into his body with physical strength to come … Pretty straight fastball; four seam look, without much consistent run, bore, cut of note. Good downhill plane; tall kid; projectability through frame for more velo, but needs to clean up some arm action to get it. Works off his fastball and loves going to the pitch; lots of fastballs and will challenge hitters … Threw a couple surprisingly sharp curveballs with good downward life. Admittedly, I wish he’d gone to the curveball more in my look; good looking pitch with depth and surprising sharpness at times … Changeup lagging in third; didn’t throw many in my look … Very, very slow to the plate with runners on base; slow move OK considering he’s a lefty, but extremely vulnerable to first move steal with slower, deliberate look. Aside from that, holds runners pretty well; will pick over, pays attention, holds long sets; will flash quicker move to plate at times, too … Overall good size with hints of arm strength and a decent breaking ball; worthy follow for four-year schools seeking sturdy lefty with upside.
