Timed 4.32 up the line; 4.69 turn (both LHH) … 8.65 home to second (LHH).

Big, strong kid; physical, one of the stronger guys on the field; stands out. Love the power through his lower half; lots of leverage in legs, will hit for pop with that build … Turns it pretty smoothly at third base for a big guy; good, soft hands and a quick release. Very strong arm when he wants to show it off; approaching plus in my looks, great velo across the diamond with carry; stays straight on to target. Advanced feel for moving side to side at third, particularly across to glove side to make plays; good range and will throw well on the run/off balance … Tall, physical lefty at the plate; showed a tendency to over-swing some at the plate and will get caught up right now trying to do too much/over do it, but tons of raw power there. Really uncoils on the ball; great separation and then bat speed through the zone; looking to do damage with his swings. Power bat should flourish as he ages.

More than enough physicality, size, and durability for a broad everyday ceiling; will be carried by hit/power tools and probably should be expected to produce quite a bit of pop in pro ball. Don’t sleep on defensive tools, though; not a glove-first guy, but CJ Alexander should hold his own defensively and could turn into a relatively strong fielder with some development. Tools are there; great 2018 MLB Draft follow out of national powerhouse State College of Florida program.
