Brallan Perez, SS, Oakland Athletics

April 25-26 — Weaker, undersized middle infielder; some room to grow into his body, but not a ton of physical upside here. Weak ground ball contact in my look; overpowered by better fastballs and gets tied up on the inner half; not much ability to manipulate the barrel or hit the ball in the air with authority … Haven’t yet gotten a good defensive look … Brallan Perez came over to the Oakland Athletics on waivers from the Baltimore Orioles in December of 2017; he got to Baltimore a few months before that in a trade from the Texas Rangers. Ultimately of little utility as a potential big league prospect; likely org depth at this point, perhaps with an up-and-down future as a utility man/backup infielder at ceiling.
