Modesto Nuts Baseball Team — Info, Links, Ballpark, Media

After a twelve year affiliation with the Colorado Rockies ended in 2016, the Modesto Nuts opted to go in a very different direction after being purchased by the Seattle Mariners, now their new big league parent organization moving forward. It’s a good situation for the Mariners, who bought into one of the more stable and consistent affiliates in the California League in Modesto after several tough years with the now-defunct Bakersfield Blaze.

As for the Nuts, they host their games at John Thurman Field, one of the nice, traditional facilities of the Cal League.  The late 2000s and early 2010s were particularly good in Modesto, where the Nuts led the Cal League in attendance for five straight years and won back-to-back Cal League Organization of the Year awards in 2010 and 2011. And now, with mascots Al, Wally, and Shelly (yes, all nuts), the Modesto Nuts move forward into the Mariners-focused future with sights bright and likely growth all around in a solid media market relatively close to the Bay Area.
