Scouting Report

Starting shortstop for WLAC throughout his career so far, has also played second base for a good bit. Didn’t do much with the bat as a true freshman but turned the corner a little bit here early in his sophomore year; good ballplayer overall, love his range and arm at shortstop now, even though he’s probably destined to be a second baseman at the next level past WLAC. Above-average bat speed, decent approach to attack the ball and will hit it to all fields with some feel to adjust to how he’s being pitched. Not a ton of power and may not be a significant offensive threat at the next level, but he’s competed really well here in his sophomore year at the plate; like the competitiveness and energy there, developed nicely compared to a year ago and turned the corner to compete a little bit better against higher-end arms. High-energy guy defensively, too, plays very hard and shows off good range and first-step quickness; maybe a utility guy at the next level for a smaller or mid-level program, especially considering his relatively light bat? Pretty decent runner; 4.33 up the line from the right side, good overall athlete. I like him a lot; plays hard, competes well, good energy and presence on the field, one of the better under-the-radar infielders I’ve seen this spring, may be a nice late add for a smaller program seeking versatility and depth.
